Barbara Jean (Freitas) Roderick

Barbara Roderick, 70 of Peabody, MA passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on July 16, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Barbara was born in Lynn and grew up in Peabody, where she also later resided to settle with her family and raise her children.

Barb had a very loud and contagious laugh unlike one you have ever heard.  Anytime you entered a room and you could hear her laugh and know you would be greeted with her smiling face.

Barb had many passions in life including cooking and entertaining family and friends, but her favorite was being a Gammie to her grandchildren Lincoln and Abagail Brosnan.  Her love for them was immeasurable and they were the light of her life.

Barb is survived by her husband Philip Roderick of Peabody. She and Phil met many years ago and their love for music and dance  brought them together and created an unbreakable bound. They had found their soulmate in each other.

Barb is also survived by her daughter, Coryn Brosnan and her partner Trevor Meserve. Her son Brian Brosnan wife Denise. Her three brothers Joe Freitas, Bruce Freitas and his wife Julie, Jim Freitas and his wife Tina Pelletier and her sister Julie Kohut and her husband John. Barbara is a stepmother  to Johnny Roderick and wife Patty, Paul Roderick and wife Alice and Brian Roderick.  Amongst her family listed, Barb adored by her many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, and friends.

Barb has been welcomed to heaven by her Father Manuel J. Freitas Sr., mother Jean Ambrose,  sister in law Linda Freitas and Nephew Nick Freitas.

Family and friends will honor Barbara's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home North Shore Chapel, 10 Chestnut Street, Peabody, on Monday, July 25th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Services will conclude with a graveside memorial service at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. 

 A celebration of life will be held at Club Luis De Camões 10 Collins Street, Peabody from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM on Monday, July 25th.
