Carmella R. Calvino (Correale) 84, of West Peabody, formerly of East Boston, Winthrop, and West Palm Beach, FL. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday June 8th.
Carmella was the devoted loving wife of Salvatore G. Calvino, with whom she would have celebrated 65 years of marriage in the fall.
Carmella was born and raised in East Boston and was the daughter of the late Domenic and Mary (Orlando) Correale. Carmella worked as a full time Wife, Mom and Nanny throughout her life. She had a passion for cooking and baking. She put her heart and soul into hosting the Italian style Christmas Eve every year for over 50 years.
Carmella was a dedicated wife, mother, mother in law, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She treasured her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as "Nanny." She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She was an avid Bingo player and loved her trips to the casino.
She is survived by her loving Husband Salvatore G. Calvino, and their children, Salvatore C. Calvino and his wife Karen (DePalma) of Boca Raton FL, Glenn Calvino and his wife Ann (Colella) of Danvers, MA and Sonya Calvino of Peabody, MA. Carmella is the adored "Nanny" of Briannah Gallo of Peabody MA, Michael Gallo and Justina Langone of Sandown NH, Derek and Ryanne Collella of Danvers, MA, Christie and Tyler Strople of Gloucester, MA, Ashley and Gerard Weber of Merrimack, NH and Tanya and Chad Coll of Charlottesville, VA and her beloved dog Kaylee. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Carmella was predeceased by her brothers, Ralph, Anthony and Domenic and her sisters, Phyllis, Marie and Dorothy.
