Emilios Loulourgas, of Middleton Massachusetts, passed peacefully with loved ones at his side on April 21st, 2022 at the age of 83.
Emilios was born in Pythagoreon Samos Greece, son of Dimitrios and Maria Loulourgas. Samos is where he met his beloved wife Theodora "Anna" Loulourgas.
He was a proud and loving father to his children and their families: Dimitrios Loulourgas and Delia Terra and their children Adrianna and Katerina; Maria Mouhawil and husband Salah Mouhawil and their children Sara and Adam.
Emilios is survived by his six siblings: Stelios, Giannis, George and Voula Loulourgas, Constantina "Dina" Sethares and Irene Eriotis.
Family and friends will honor Emilios's life by gathering at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 10 Chestnut Street, Peabody, on Wednesday, April 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos Street, Peabody, on Thursday, April 28th at 10:00 A.M. Please meet directly at the Church. Emilios will be laid to rest at Oakdale Cemetery, 82 Maple St, Middleton.
Along with his brothers, Emilios grew to love fishing on his father's boat. In his 20s, he became a merchant marine, sailing around the world on large vessels. In 1970, Emilios and Anna migrated to the United States and settled down in Brighton Massachusetts where they started and raised their family. In 1974, Emilios opened up an automotive shop called "Samos Auto Electric" in Cambridge MA where he worked for 26 years until his retirement. Once retired, Emilios and Anna moved to Middleton MA as well as their vacation home in Samos Greece where his family spent their summer vacations.
Emilios loved spending time with family and friends. You would often find them enjoying coffee and good food while playing backgammon and discussing politics and world affairs. He also nurtured his creative side by writing poetry and song lyrics. He was a compassionate and generous person who was fun to be around and will be greatly missed.
